Instructions:

  1. Download the SVG or PDF files

    Small box PDF here

NOTE: when you print the PDF files of the Large donut box, they will print out onto 2 sheets. Simply tape them together where the lines join and you should have the correct dimensions! πŸ™‚

2. Cut boxes out
If using an X-acto knife, with a hard surface underneath your paper, cut out your PDF patterns and then trace them onto your cardstock with a pencil. Then cut out your boxes from card stock using your X-acto knife again.
If using your Cricut maker, upload the SVG files into your design space. The small box will fit nicely onto one piece of cardstock. The large box will need 2 pieces (one for the top and one for the bottom). When sizing your LARGE donut boxes in your Cricut design center, your BOTTOM will measure about 9 1/2” x 9 1/2” and your TOP will measure about 9 3/4” x 9 3/4”.

3. Assemble boxes
SMALL BOX: With a straight crease, begin by folding in all of the little rounded edges on what will be the bottom portion of the box. Then fold each of the 8 sections up towards the center (to make a square shape within each section). With the lid, fold each tab towards what will be the top center of the box.
With your hot glue gun, run a thin line of glue on each bottom tab, attaching it to the bottom square adjacent to the tab until it forms an octagon! You will not glue any portion of the top as that just fit inside the bottom of the box when closed.

LARGE BOX: The assembly for the large box top and bottom is the same, so follow accordingly. With a straight crease, begin folding in all of the rounded edges inward. Then fold each of the 8 sections up towards the center (to make a square shape within each section).
With your hot glue gun, run a thin line of glue on each tap, attaching it to the square adjacent until it forms an octagon shape! πŸ™‚

TIP: Be sure to fold each crease as straight as possible. The shape will be β€œoff” and, specifically with the small box, the lid won’t fit well inside the bottom (it will buckle and won’t close easily).

4. Embellish + stuff with donuts
Add any embellishments that you want. You could have your kids paint the lids, write words of encouragement all over the box, attach paper flowers, or simply calligraphy the receivers name on the top for added pizzaz! πŸ™‚ Stuff with your favorite donuts and deliver to everyone you love! πŸ™‚
