How to make a felt Christmas bulb garland (or ornaments)

JINGGGLEEEE BELLLLLLLLLSSS! 
Are your halls decked and your tree adorned yet? Because our house is in FULL SWING Christmas mode, and I. LOVE. IT! We are a colorful and fun kind of Christmas decor family so that means the more color and texture and whimsy, the better!

Today I am sharing the pattern for how to make these ADORABLLLLLLE felt Christmas bulbs! You can turn them into a garland or individual ornaments, both are cute and whimsical and colorful and so so so cute!

Trust me, you will *FOR SURE* want to make these in EVERY shape and color and size and hang them from every corner, tree branch and mantle this holiday season. I mean……..right?!?!! 

Supplies:

Felt in various colors
White felt for tops
Poly-fil or stuffing
Coordinating thread for sewing
Ribbon, string, thread or twine for stringing

Instructions:

  1. Download the PDF Pattern HERE!
  2. Cut 2 of lightbulb shape from your felt color of choice. Cut 1 rectangle in white felt

3. Starting about 1/4” down below the top, begin stitching the outer edge of 2 ornament shapes together. Backstitch at each end so that the stitches don’t tear out when stuffed.

4. Stuff a small amount of poly-fil into the bulb

5. fold the white rectangle in half and fold over the top rectangle portion of the bulb. Stitch along the bottom-most edge over the bulb and both sides of the white top. 

6. With ribbon, string, thread or twine string individually to make an ornament or string multiple bulbs together to make a garland! 🙂

    These are truly adorabllllllle! Love them! I should make some of these this year. With 2 kittens in the house, many of our breakable ornaments aren’t going to be going anywhere but back to the basement in their boxes for their own protection!

One of my most favorite things about painting is t One of my most favorite things about painting is that it 9284% transforms any space! Like, this very usual under the stairs spot in our house is fastly becoming a happy, play space for our kids. I kinda wish I could paint rainbow stripes in my closet or bathroom now too!! 🎨
And yes, I diiidddd use our cross country skis to make these straight edge lines. Gotta use what you got, eh!? ❤️😂 🎨
When the world feels so dark I want to be the bear When the world feels so dark I want to be the bearer of light (and color....always more color too)! 
But don’t worry, I won’t drink my paint or paint with my coffee today! 😂 Just eager to start a new project with some fresh color in a secret space for my kiddos. 🎨

I mean, can we all just take a queue from Maria when she tells us to list off our favorite things when we feel scared, mad, hurt, sad or anything in between?!?! Heck, I feel like even singing them like Maria would be the most helpful in the shenanigans of 2020, right?

Here’s the thing about running a small business: Here’s the thing about running a small business: it’s SO fulfilling to see ideas in my head come to actual life on the planet, it’s rewarding to know my hard work is paying for Esthe’s dance class (or our cable bill so I can keep watching cheesy @hallmarkchannel movies), and it’s so incredibly humbling each time an order come through knowing that someone else believes in what I’m doing or loves what I’m making enough to want to put it in their home or give as a gift to someone they love. Like, still surreal kinda! 😭❤️ 
So a giant “I loveeee youuuuuu” on small business Saturday from this sappy, happy business owner that takes over every unused crevice of our kitchen table or island to paint trees this time of the year 😂
